ParkinsonNet empowers patients to take better care of themselves. ParkinsonNet's methods completely change our outlook on healthcare provision. ParkinsonNet is a nationwide infrastructure consisting of 68 regional and multidisciplinary networks of specifically trained allied healthcare professionals who deliver integrated care to patients with Parkinson's disease. Their strategy breaks down the regular boundaries of healthcare and aims at connecting patients and healthcare professionals. Instead of focusing on cutting costs across the board, ParkinsonNet has found a way to optimize health solutions for lower costs in a specific field. For this work, the organization won the prestigious Value Based Health Care Prize from renowned expert Michael Porter in April 2015.
